James G. Lucier

James G. Lucier is a graduate of the Golden Gate University School of Law, where he obtained a Dean’s Merit Scholarship for high academic achievement by finishing in the top tier of his class. Jim is admitted to practice law before the California Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California.

Prior to law school, Jim served as the Assistant Construction Manager on the Westborough Townhouse Improvement Project, which was one of the largest residential construction rehabilitation projects of its kind in Northern California. During the project, Jim obtained detailed knowledge pertaining to the construction industry and construction practices, that have bolstered his success in representing building contractors for over twenty years. Jim’s experience includes the representation of both general contractors and subcontractors in high profile construction defect disputes, involving both commercial and residential structures, including hotels, hospitals, high rises, tract homes, custom homes, condominiums, and apartment buildings.

Jim’s practice is not limited to construction defect law. During his career, he developed a reputation as an aggressive litigator in both landslide and water diversion cases, with published Appellate Court decisions that formulate the basis for modern nuisance law principles. On top of that, he recently scored a huge victory for a nationally known construction developer that was sued for alleged anti-trust violations in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California.
