Eric D. Despotes

Eric Despotes joined the firm in 2017 and is a member of the general civil liability practice group. Prior to joining Clapp Moroney, Eric practiced family law and civil defense in San Jose.

Eric received his undergraduate degree in political science with an emphasis in international relations from Long Beach State. He graduated cum laude from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2009, where he was an editor of the Santa Clara Law Review and recipient of the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in Constitutional Law. He worked as a bar-certified law student for the Santa Clara County Office of the Public Defender, and was a clinical extern with the Northern California Innocence Project. While serving on law review, he authored an article advocating for the expansion of a constitutional right to access DNA evidence that was published in Volume 49 of the journal.
